Album Info:Prompted on a tip from Mr. Turley, we got out on this Monday in hopes of, at the very least, shooting empty grain train V060 going through the west leg of the wye at CP 291 on the Syracuse Terminal-sub. Who would have known just how interesting the day was gonna turn out to be! Thanks Mr. Turley! (photos are in chronological order)

Battered Bridge
Title:  Battered Bridge
Description:  While waiting for an empty grain train to go south from Woodard I noticed that the signal became lit for a northbound move. With that in mind I reached CP 291 just in time to see this train head up the St. Lawrence-sub. Here's the Q192 going through a bridge well known around these parts for its low clearance on the road below; despite the fact that there are numerous warnings, some trucks and buses still hit it. BTW......that's Onondaga Lake in the background.

Sears Lead
Title:  Sears Lead
Description:  Right after the V060 cleared the wye at CP 291, I heard dispatch talking with the crew on a DeWitt yard job. They were talkin' about having to get to the Sears lead, I've heard this before and knew that they were going to 84 Lumber.........why they call it the Sears lead I don't know. So here's the Y111 about to make a hook on an empty box car.

Notchin' it up!
Title:  Notchin' it up!
Description:  Just as the Y111 was clearing CP285 we heard dispatch talking with a loaded grain train that was headed up to Fulton! This really suprised me, so I raced over to I-81 north and saw the G036 going through the wye. I stayed right on 81, to 481 and set-up for a shot north of Phoenix because I did'nt want to deal with the traffic in Liverpool and the village of Phoenix, and have them get by me. After waiting 30 minutes or so, something became apparently wrong, and here's what happened: the G036 stalled on the northbound grade up to Woodard. They likely had the crossings at Vine St and Old Liverpool Rd blocked for almost two full hours! Here we see four axle engine 6055 from the local B777 helping to get the heavy train moving again.

It's still October
Title:  It's still October
Description:  A lot of the colorful leaves have fallen by now, and the cloudy/overcast skies that dominate in winter are moving in but; it was still nice to get out and shoot the G036-21 on CSX's Fulton-sub today.
