Title:  HLCX meets ICE
Description:  Dim lighting made for a lousy, blurry photo of this eastbound autorack meeting a westbound tanker train late this afternoon in Warners, NY. No doubt; I was happy to catch this meet with leased and foreign power, but all 7 photos came out blurry.....so much so that I can not positively identify the third locomotive in the autorack train! It looks like #6655, but there are very few photos of 6655 on this site to make a comparison.

Title:  Water level route MP 289
Description:  This train just came off the St.Lawrence sub at CP 291 and is heading toward Dewitt yard. The interesting thing about it is the second locomotive is a tribute unit to a Colonel Philip Hooper. This particular locomotive has rarely been sited this far north.

Leased power
Title:  Leased power
Description:  I've had a really dry spell recently in my efforts to catch anything other than CSX units leading trains on the "water level route". So when I heard these guys calling signals and talking with dispatch, I hit the road! I could have set up for a better shot if it was'nt for the 15 seconds we were held at a nearby red light. By the way, the CITX 2792 is leading the K408 here.

Description:  While chasing the eastbound train K408 (led by CITX 2792), we came across this train with an IC unit in the lash-up! We were pretty happy to see that here! I've got a close-up view of the IC unit in my Roster Shots album. We caught the CN unit in a consist in Liverpool, NY last week. Considering the power line-up in this train, it's safe to say that they'll be heading for the "North Country" when traffic on the mainline clears up.

Description:  I've seen a lot of new and odd things out here lately.........."new" trains and new symbols........westbounds with even-numbered symbols, etc. I swear I heard these guys call this the Q626 when they called the signals. The Q626 is almost always mixed-freight, today it's running earlier than usual (12:41) and is nothing but auto-racks!

4 axle lease engine
Title:  4 axle lease engine
Description:  First time for me sighting a 4 axle HLCX engine. This engine is the sixth of seven engines on what I believe to be CSX train X78624; it's tied down on the so-called pocket track between CP 296 and CP 293 on CSX's Syracuse terminal-sub. The entire lash-up beginning with the lead unit is: (all CSX except the 4220) 5441, 7604, 7389, 8157, 6229, HLCX 4220, 8863.
