Description:  Even though you can't see it in this photo, the crew has brought a short string of cars here to CP's Conklin yard. From here they'll go back "light-power" to the rest of their train that is occupying one of the main tracks of the Southern-tier a few miles west of here. They will then hook back up to that train and procede north on the D&H as the 938.

Description:  This train just came off the St.Lawrence sub at CP 291 and is heading toward Dewitt yard. The interesting thing about it is the second locomotive is a tribute unit to a Colonel Philip Hooper. This particular locomotive has rarely been sited this far north.

Description:  After working at Cargill's salt mine....the train is northbound for a siding where they will leave these loaded salt hoppers and then continue north to work at the AES facility. From AES they'll head back south with some empty coal hoppers and the loaded salt cars to Ithaca, NY.

Description:  The Pennsy leads Norfolk Southern train 23K down the D&H. Since the D&H is owned by Canadian Pacific this train is technically a foreign movement at this point; hence CP symbol 935. It's now 12:56 and the crew will bring her up to the station where the New York, Susquehanna & Western offices are and tie it down.

NS was out of here within 10 minutes and then we talked about the likelihood of seeing the SMS make the pick-up. I was skeptical.
