Railfanning after work today was like the old days for me; no plan, no scanner, and a cheap camera! I got out of work and headed for the Belle Isle siding to see if anything was there, as I was gettin' close I could see the tail end of a string of tankers headin' east around the end of Onondaga Lake near the Carousel Mall. I changed course and headed straight for CP286 to wait it out.........Nothing. Started heading back westward for home and then saw this! |

| Description: |
At CP296, this eastbound train is just entering CSX's Syracuse terminal-sub from the Rochester-sub. I snapped the photo off at 4:40 in the afternoon, so I'm guessing this is CSX train Q626............a daily Buffalo to Selkirk mixed freight. It's somewhat common to see switchers in this particular train, just like there is today! |
