Somewhere, somehow (I'd really like to know) this engine-set got turned around and is assinged to a tanker train that is now (10:00 Jan. 1, 2012) on the controlled Belle Isle siding, and ready to enter the main line at CP296 and head west.

Description:  I caught word about the K635 (led by CP 5995) on the Riverline yesterday at 09:30 and I was hoping to catch it! So, here it is tied-down on the Belle Isle siding at CP296 where CSX's Syracuse terminal and Rochester subdivisions border-up. CSX engine #309 is leading the Q381 on track 1, and the Q112-17 is stopped on track 2 at CP294 waiting for authorization to run through a work zone.

Description:  This caught me by surprise and left me with very little time to set-up. I'm guessing this one engine is pulling a string of empty hoppers from ALCOA in Massena, NY. The reciprocal of this train is the K533 which brings bauxite loads to ALCOA. Here the train is at the south end of the St. Lawrence-sub on the east shore of Onondaga Lake.

Description:  While waiting for the Y111-07 to leave 84 Lumber we saw this westbound train. Apparently it's an empty grain train even though there was red zip-tie seals on the bottom of a lot of the hoppers; like, why would anyone care to seal an empty car? A good friend of mine informed me that this originated in Selkirk, and is bound for Crestline, OH.

Description:  Railfanning after work today was like the old days for me; no plan, no scanner, and a cheap camera! I got out of work and headed for the Belle Isle siding to see if anything was there, as I was gettin' close I could see the tail end of a string of tankers headin' east around the end of Onondaga Lake near the Carousel Mall. I changed course and headed straight for CP286 to wait it out.........Nothing. Started heading back westward for home and then saw this!
